Nobles were engaged by Cardinal Newman College, Preston, to provide a new pavilion alongside their sports fields.

Access to the old pavilion and the pitches had to be maintained throughout. The old pavilion (which contained asbestos) was carefully removed on handover of the new one. Access to the site was via a narrow and height restricted tunnel under a railway.

The new pavilion contained a series of 7 changing rooms (including showers), office, stores, disabled WC and disabled platform lift. The building was a brick structure with a steel block and beam floor raised 1m from the ground as the area was in a flood plain. The truss roof was covered with zinc sheets and a plant room with access steps installed at one end of the pavilion.
