A £6.2 million Design and Build project to construct a new C2 classification Hospital.

Nobles fully refurbished the derelict villas.  We also constructed a link building, extension and outriggers.

The existing building has had structural repairs completed.  The internal floors and slate roof are also renewed.

We upgraded, overhauled and replaced the existing window fittings.  We also rebuilt some bay windows and stone features as part of the full fenestration works.

New mechanical and electrical installations include underfloor heating.  We incorporated anti-ligature furniture and fittings due to the nature of the facility .

We used buff brick to match the existing facades.  On the new-build area we used traditional construction methods.

We installed two new passenger lifts in the outriggers.  Externally we completed all associated drainage, services and external works.

The site is primarily encompassed by residential properties.  It is also located in a conservation area and is covered by bat and tree protection orders.

The very congested site requires strategic planning and site logistics.  In part this is due to the school located in the cul-de-sac to the north of Victoria Road.

Repeat business to commence June 2018; Acorn Lodge, Barnsley.
