This £2.7 million Design and Build project is a mixed tenure development of 24 one bedroom apartments and 8 three bedroom shared ownership houses.

The development is built on a former gas works site in Frome.  Primary construction methods are timber frame with traditional brickwork and reproduction timber cladding.

Exterior roads and car parks have surface water attenuation.  This controls the discharge of rain water into the adjacent river and in turn assists in the prevention of any future flooding.

It was incumbent on us to ensure high levels of acoustic resistivity.  This is due to the proximity of the directly adjacent live railway line.  It applies to the building structure, as well as the mechanical and ventilation elements of the buildings.

This was a challenging project.  The is due to the difficulty accessing site, heavy contamination and it being home to a colony of rare bats.
